Recruitment consultancy looks a little different nowadays and so do we (the word fintech did not even exist twenty years ago), but the fundamentals remain the same. Ellie O’Neill
As founder and CEO of fishtank, Ellie is the beating heart of all operations and values here. She takes pride in the way that fishtank has developed over time, building up its strong reputation, and in her team. 20 years on, she still loves her job and it’s this passion that is filtered through every aspect of her work that fosters fishtank’s singularity in the recruitment market. The best feedback Ellie receives is: ‘you’re not like any other recruitment agency!” because this has always been her goal.
Being both a CEO and a mum to two boys doesn’t leave much spare time, but Ellie enjoys pilates, snowboarding, socialising with friends and a good Netflix series.
Owen O'Neill
Following various sales roles mainly in the high performance car sector with Honda and TVR, Owen started working in Recruitment in 1999 and in 2001 was promoted to run a regional office in Bristol.
He left in 2003 to set up on his own and ran his own Bristol based IT recruitment business until 2015. He founded WeDoData in 2016 as it was clear that the future of recruitment lay in “inch wide, mile deep” companies that specialised in niche sectors.
WeDoData has been formed to be that specialist Data recruitment business that both clients and candidates can rely on getting a straightforward level of service from, every time.
Owen moved to Mallorca this year with his family and is now responsible for building the team out there, which gives us a unique USP in that Consultants who work in our Bristol office can hot desk in our Mallorca office for a few weeks should they wish to.
Sarah
Sarah has worked for fishtank for 7 years but has been in the recruitment industry for 15. After attending university in Bristol, she traveled for 15 months before settling in Bristol, where she now lives with her family of four or rather six if you count their two beloved cats. Sarah enjoys the hybrid working model that fishtank offers, the friendly team and the fact that if she so wishes, she can work with Georgia in Mallorca and be in lovely sunny Spain.
Outside of ferrying her two daughters to their various activities, Sarah likes to explore Bristol’s independent cafés and restaurants. She loves gardening, tennis and cycling around the city.
